I spent the last evening at Grand Trunk in the D drinking this gem.  Thick and black as oil, this beer had a nice balance of malt and hops.  It had enough robust, malt flavors, like coffee, chocolate, and even charcoal to seem like a porter but the hops delivered a slight piney taste.  I should have ordered another, but I  switched to a Belgian.  I’ll be looking for more of this soon, and hopefully I get a chance to visit the folks in Marshall again, too.
